Now working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

It is his first title following the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after March of that year.

Success also means he has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his last six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.

His retrieving approach and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused some to question if his skill to play at the top level was finished.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an better service.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

Both players traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent saved four early chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
